Who Can Apply? 

DGSOP applications are open to international students interested in exploring higher-education opportunities in the Netherlands, subject to the applicable programme and university requirements. 

Basic Eligibility Applicants should generally: 

✓ Be an international student 

✓ Hold a valid or validly obtainable passport/travel document 

✓ Have completed or be completing the relevant educational qualification 

✓ Have a genuine interest in studying in the Netherlands 

✓ Provide accurate academic and personal information 

✓ Meet the admission requirements of any university/programme they subsequently apply to 

Documents You May Need Depending on your profile, you may be asked for:

 • Passport 

• Academic certificates

 • Mark sheets/transcripts 

• English-language test result, if applicable 

• CV/resume 

• Statement of purpose, where required 

• Other documents requested for a specific programme

Important 

Meeting DGSOP's initial eligibility criteria does not mean that you are automatically admitted to a Dutch university or eligible for a residence permit. For university-level study residence permits, the study programme must be accredited, the institution must be a recognised IND sponsor, the student must study full-time, and applicable income requirements must be met. 2026 Financial Requirement For higher professional education/university students, the IND lists a 2026 study amount of €1,130.77 per month, excluding tuition fees. Requirements can change, so applicants should verify the current official amount before relying on it.
